Semi-Trailing Arm Boxing Plates suitable for BMW 02 Series (1502–2002 turbo)

The boxing plates for the rear semi-trailing arms from Wehran Motorsport are developed specifically for the rear axle suitable for BMW 02 Series. From the factory, the legs of the semi-trailing arms are C-shaped in cross-section and relatively weak. The 2 mm plates are welded into these open profiles and box them in. This noticeably increases the torsional stiffness of the arms. Integrated weld-on mounting points for the brake lines are included. That makes the plates a worthwhile upgrade for higher-powered builds, tuning and motorsport use.

Why box the semi-trailing arms on the BMW 02 Series?

The rear semi-trailing arms carry the loads from the rear wheels into the body. With more power, a sports suspension and spirited driving, these loads increase noticeably, and the factory C-profile arms were never designed for this. Boxing the arms turns the open profiles into closed ones. A closed profile is considerably stiffer against twisting than an open one.

More torsional stiffness for the rear axle

Once welded in, the boxing plates increase the torsional stiffness of the semi-trailing arms. This helps keep the rear axle geometry more stable under load, giving you a more precise and predictable rear end when driving hard.

Integrated weld-on brake line mounts

The set includes integrated mounting points for the brake lines, which you weld on as well. They let you route the brake lines cleanly and securely along the reinforced arms.

Fitment: suitable for all BMW 02 Series variants

The boxing plates are suitable for all BMW 02 Series variants, including 1502, 1602, 1802, 2002, 2002ti, 2002tii and 2002 turbo.

Installation: welded into the semi-trailing arms

The plates are welded into the open profiles of the rear semi-trailing arms. Before welding, remove the semi-trailing arms from the car and take out the rubber bushings, or protect them reliably from the heat. The plates are supplied uncoated, so paint them after installation to protect against corrosion.
