71 °C Thermostat for BMW E36 – Upgrade for Motorsport, Drift & Track Days

71-Degree Thermostat for BMW E36 Engine Cooling

Do you want to tune your BMW E36 cooling system for motorsport use? The 71°C thermostat from Wehran Motorsport allows for an earlier opening than the higher-temperature stock thermostat. This allows you to specifically adapt the control behavior of your cooling circuit to your vehicle setup.

Whether it's an E36 track tool, drift car, or track build: the coolant thermostat is available individually and can be easily included when overhauling the cooling system.

Low-Temperature Thermostat – Earlier Coolant Flow to the Radiator

The 71-degree thermostat begins to open at approximately 71 °C coolant temperature. This gradually opens the path through the radiator, allowing heat dissipation via the large cooling circuit to begin earlier.

The specified opening temperature describes the start of this process. The actual operating temperature continues to be influenced by engine load, radiator performance, airflow, and the other components of the cooling system.

Thermostat Suitable for BMW E36 Track Tools and Drift Cars

For a motorsport conversion, the radiator, fan, air ducting, and thermostat should all match the intended use. The earlier-opening BMW E36 thermostat offers you a way to adjust the temperature control within this overall concept.

Especially if you are planning to replace your E36 thermostat or overhaul the engine cooling system anyway, you can select the opening temperature to suit your setup. The 71°C thermostat complements a cooling system tuned for track days, drift, and motorsport.
