Rear Shock Mount Reinforcement Plates suitable for BMW E36 & E46

The rear shock mount reinforcement plates from Wehran Motorsport reinforce the rear shock towers suitable for BMW E36 and suitable for BMW E46. These mounts take heavy loads during spirited driving, track days and drifting. Especially with stiffer suspension or high-powered setups, the factory mount can deform, fatigue or even crack. The 4-piece set of 3 mm plates reinforces each mount on the top and bottom, giving you a more solid suspension connection at the rear axle.

Why reinforce the rear shock mounts?

The factory rear shock mount is designed for normal road use. On track, when drifting or with stiff suspension, the shocks feed considerably higher forces into the body. The result can be material fatigue, deformation or cracks around the mount, followed by costly bodywork repairs. The reinforcement plates add material exactly in this area and help prevent this kind of damage.

Reinforcement on the top and bottom of the mount

The set reinforces each rear shock mount from two sides: top and bottom. This spreads the forces over a larger area of the body, so the mounts stay stable even under high suspension loads and strong lateral forces.

Pairs with front strut tower reinforcement

The rear shock mount reinforcement plates are an ideal complement to other suspension and body reinforcements. One example is our front strut tower reinforcement suitable for BMW E36. Together, they help stabilise both the front and rear axle for track use.

Installation: welded onto the shock mount

The plates are welded onto the top and bottom of the rear shock mount. As this is bodywork, we recommend installation by a professional shop. The plates are supplied uncoated, so corrosion protection is required after welding, for example paint or a rust-proof primer.
